The course of English Language is a significant component of the curriculum and is intended for the students of the  Pedagogy and Psychology department, who have chosen to study English as a foreign language. The course is organized in order to include lexical, grammatical, and listening aspect. Having in view the specialization of the group, it is intended to be an applied aspect of language teaching. Thus, deriving from these characteristics the established objectives would be the following:

  • Developing and consolidating, training students' abilities and skills in reading, translating and rendering specialized texts, it includes the knowledge of basic concepts and terms definitions supplied with examples.
  • The course includes a thorough rehearsal and consolidation of basic grammatical issues, mainly practical aspects as applied in the text of study.

The main emphasis of this course is on the improvement of the four language skills: writing, reading, listening and speaking. An important point in their formation concerns the comprehension of English texts specific to their core curriculum, the development of independent and creative thinking, as well as of the self-expression necessary for oral and written communication.
